1894 Victorian cottage is on the National Register of Historic
Places, and is among the most unique homes in New Mexico, made
of recycled materials. The blocks are gold slag; its wood came
from a razed photographer's studio in Kingston. The property
was owned by a McKinley nominee to the Supreme Court. From the
veranda, enjoy the views and the air embalmed by birdsong. You
can chat, read, and if you must, work on your laptop. You'll
quickly see why Hillsboro has a high concentration of creative
